There are no laws in any state regarding who may date.
There are laws in every state regarding who may have sexual contact.
What the situation is in the US seems to rather depend on the laws of the State in question.
I would think that it is less common than say a 17 year old boy dating a 15 year old girl.
At the same age, boys are less mature than girls, which would be why it is more common for a girl to date an older boy.
I know we can't have sex, but would it be okay if we met up just to talk and hang out?
If BOTH sets of parents are all right with it, yes.
When me and my friends were teens, we mostly met potential dates, boyfriends, and girlfriends at school or through friends and family, which wasn’t exactly the fastest or most reliable process.
We didn’t have all the online options that teens today have.
Problem is shes only just turned 17 about a month ago and i am 20 now, turning 21 early next year.
I know its all fine and legal and all but it still doesnt quite seem right, just wondered what others thought.
But 17 and 15 aren’t too bad, I guess, if you really like him.
It’s just up to you to put up with his immaturity, you can’t expect him to be as responsible as an older guy. most boys aren’t very mature at that age (think they finally mature somewhere in their 30’s, but only a little).
Please keep in mind that sexual contact is not even remotely limited to sexual intercourse but includes anything sexual whatsoever.
